About Us

In  January 1992, the church began with a Bible Study founded by Pastor Clifford Ashe III in the Community Room of the Pheasant Ridge apartment complex in Harrisburg, Pa. Through relevant, life changing teaching the ministry grew from seven to 45 committed believers in just three months.

 

The church was launched with great enthusiasm on Easter Sunday of 1992. The first official Worship Service was held in the ballroom of the Harrisburg Holiday Inn East, which became our dedicated church home for the next three years. There were over 200 people in attendance at the initiation service of DaySpring Ministries. It was then called East Shore Community Church.

 

During that year the Men's, Women's, Children's and Music ministries were created. 

 

Needing more space and flexibility we moved to a local shopping center in Harrisburg, Pa. The 22,000 square foot double store front was renovated to accommodate our growing congregation. Additional ministries were constantly being added to meet the needs of our increasing fellowship. In 1999 the church purchased 30 acres of land and began building a 47,000 square foot worship and family center.

 

On Christmas Eve of 1999, just seven years after the start of the church, we moved into our present church home in Middletown, Pa. This included a state of the art recording studio and a full-service Christian bookstore called The Plumb Line. It was at this inaugural service that we became DaySpring Ministries. DaySpring means the dawning of a new day.

Pastor Ashe committed  himself to bringing people to healing and wholeness. After 30 years of service, Pastor Clifford Ashe III retired as founder and senior pastor of Dayspring Ministries on January 9, 2021.    

 

On January 16, 2021, Pastor Darryl L. Godlock was inaugurated as Senior Pastor of DaySpring Ministries. Since becoming Pastor he has enhanced In-Person and Online Worship Service and Bible Study. Pastor Godlock continues to increase membership. He developed new community relationships through our first annual Community Day. He continues to minister to those struggling through life challenges' especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.
